"Object Already Exists" Error While Installing The Citrix Receiver

The issue: When attempting to install the receiver, the installer instantly pops up “Object Already Exists” and then quits before installing.


The Fix: Remove microsoft update KB2919614.




  1. Start
  2. Select control panel
  3. Go to Windows Update
  4. On the left panel, select view update history
  5. At the top, select Installed updates
  6. Scan through the list for the KB2919614 update
  7. Uninstall the update
  8. Reboot PC

You may now install the Citrix Receiver.


According to microsoft, this update breaks the windows installer and will not allow the user to install anything on their computer while the update is present on the machine. So far the issue only exists on Windows 7 Pro PCs.
